Educating yourself about your disease
and becoming your own advocate are two
of the most powerful weapons you can use to fight it. Be prepared with basic information about the options available
to you when talking to your doctor or healthcare adviser so that you can have
a more effective dialogue during your visits. It is often helpful to prepare a list of pertinent questions and concerns before your appointments in order to remember everything during each visit.

When you are researching, always consider the source, whether it is on the internet or elsewhere. Consider the following questions while you are reading: Is the author trying to sell something? What experience do they have or what research have they done to back their claims? Where else can you get independent verification? Remember that this is your body and your life. Know that you always have the right to ask questions and investigate further. Knowledge is power, and with power comes hope. knowledge is power articleS & books
